I've been playing with a new blog since the new year although it has not been online. Yesterday, I activated it with the idea that I will write on it for a year. I'm moving from Blogger to Wordpress mostly because I've always admired how Wordpress blogs look; however, the reason that it has taken me so long to make this move is that I don't quite understand enough about how Wordpress works to make the blog visually satisfying to me. And so, I am taking the plunge. I may be back if I cannot make this work.
You can find my ruminations at: http://myyearofchasingjoy.wordpress.com
"How lucky we were! How fortunate to have loved so well, so completely. Not perfectly, but then we were not about perfection, we were rough edged stones smoothing our edges.” Edges worn away by water and sand, whose faces were shined, and whose beauty is most apparent when they lay under the surface of clear water. For us, it is not water and sand but the journeys that have brought us together, it is the road that hones the soul.

Resolutions, intentions and a motto
A first stab at 2014 intentions. They’ve been in my head for a few days now so they belong more to December than January. Later revisions, of course, will be totally of the new year.
Motto for 2014: Thrive where you are planted. This is an old motto that I used when I was challenged by place. It is time that challenges me now -- although not as much as it has -- and I want to pay full attention to living this very day completely.
Resolutions:
breathe & be gentle
sit each day
give more, expect less
awaken
indulge the body
love
invite passion, inspiration & kindred spirits
read
write
dream
knit
make art
make art
ask for help
have no fear
integrate dualities
integrate dualities
